Queens will be available on June 9, 2022 at the shop after 1PM.

These Carpathian queens are sourced from Ukraine, having begun being imported into Canada for the first time in 2021. Reports from 2021 apiaries are very positive.

From the importer:

"Premium queens from Ukraine have strong hygienic qualities, are good producers with gentle demeanour and are winter hardy.  Well suited for the Canadian climate. This queen has favourable genetic properties, is a good honey producer, broods up well in the spring and possesses a gentle demeanour. Known as the ‘Mountain Bee’, it is winter hardy and well-suited to the Canadian environment."

We are extremely happy to bring these into the Yukon after a number of attempts that the war has affected.
